This piece brings together Texas white daisies and lantana—two plants that thrive in heat, neglect, and stubborn soil. The daisies rise light and open while the lantana clusters below with dense color and unruly energy. Drawn in ink and softened with watercolor washes, the composition balances delicacy and resilience. 

The loose background allows the flowers to feel suspended in memory rather than tied to a specific place, like a moment noticed while passing through a garden or roadside. This work reflects my ongoing interest in native and familiar plants as symbols of endurance, coexistence, and everyday beauty—things that persist whether or not we stop long enough to look.
